To answer the ops question. What do you mean by improve? I had the 777 for many years and now have a Metrum Hex. The hex is just more musical than the Sony. More resolution and a much more beautiful sound. I have heard the Vega at shows and it certainly a highly regarded dac but will you like it. Only you can answer that question
