RE: Good software for organizing digital music library?

When you rip CDs, the ripping program should look up the CD in its online database to get Tag information like Artist, Album name and track name.

That tag information is the basis for naming the music files for a CD. For most file types, the tag information will also be stored within the file.

It sounds as though the tag information was not found for some CDs. It is always a good idea to review the tag information the progream retrieves and correct any errors before you rip the CD.

JRiver Media Center is very flexible and powerful for ripping CDs, editing tag information and managing your colection.

You will need to learn some basics about computer audio. Those basics are about the same whatever software you use to manage your collection.
