Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

128 kbps and recording era

I've been digitizing a bunch of older recordings, from the 1940's and earlier. I select 128 kbps for these, since I can't imagine audiophile considerations applying to recordings that old.

As the recordings get into the 50's and 60's, I start to wonder about a general rule for when to switch to 256 kbps. Any thoughts?
