Yes, I have thought about repair, but the skip only happens randomly. It may go several weeks without doing it, so I'm not overly anxious about making any moves(I've had the player 10+ yrs.). I just thought I'd investigate some possible replacements in the $1000-$1500 range. The usual suspects are Rega, Marantz, and Oppo....all of which have plenty of press. I ran across the Luxman and found little in the way of reviews, hence my original post.
