RE: A very technical curiosity - how to assess the quality of a spdif stream ?


Hi and thanks a lot indeed for the very helpful advice.
So the test can tell only something about a part of the all process.
This confirms my feling. That is very difficult to assess the quality of a spdif out completely.
It would be also important to understand how the different aspect (bit perfection, clock and jitter) impact sound quality.
Maybe a bad clock damages the sound more than a no bit perfect transmission ?
For instance i heard the some high jitter sound was quite pleasant to some listeners in an audition.
