RE: Is using a dedicated transport (like this) better than a cd player?

I'm also in the middle of trying to decide what to do with my current SS CD player (Yamaha 5-Disk Changer) which is fed thru a passive preamp. My vinyl system is tube based (EAR 834P) into a B&K Ref 200.2 amp and Maggies. It sounds great while my CD system is mediocre.

The Cambridge Transport looks very nice, but I cannot find a single review on it. I'm thinking this combined with a Monarchy M24 DAC Tube Preamp would solve my problems for about twice as much as I had originally wanted to spend.

This isn't easy...
