Then keep your fingers crossed the drive does not die and get it serviced, all the electrolytic Cap's changed etc., maybe op-amp's upgraded.

I do not think you can find any modern DAC (#) that will even come close.

# Some so-called Non-Os types may be even better, but generally speaking they do not use "modern" DAC Chips, but rather the reverse.

At 20 bits, you are on the verge of dynamic range covering fly-farts-at-20-feet to intolerable pain. Really, what more could we need?
