RE: Meridian's MQA - Here we go again.

Meridian's MQA sounded wonderful. Very detailed and upfront. Several cuts were played thru their midrange speakers today at Axpona. (about $30K) It is difficult for me to appraise its relative merit thru equipment and in rooms that I am not familiar with. I think it would have been helpful to play a conventional file then the MQA version.

I dont think that their speakers have ever sounded as good for what its worth. Their preamp streams to individual dacs and amps for each of the speakers in each enclosure. (If I understand correctly) I have never been very fond of these speakers.

I do have several dead formats in my house - DVDA, Laserdisk, SACD, VHS
and probably a few more. But I for one think that Meridian deserves some respect as they have made wonderful products in the past.
