Well the noob is at it again!I have a Sony CD player 707ES ,that probably needs retired because it is making a suddle klick-klick-klick when I play it and since they do not make parts for it anymore. So here are the options that I am thinking/debating :
one- new cd player with integrated DAC , direct to the preamp;
two-just a good cd transport into a DAC into the preamp;
three - no cd player, but use my MacBook as a music source, into a DAC, into the preamp.
four-fix the sony cd player at all cost , because it is extremely well built.
Budget for any options is around 1800 dollars , probably used.
All comments are welcome. Thank you kindly.
