Hi all, and thanks for your help in my previous post. I bought a couple of Sanyo SF-P101N units for my Rega Saturn, the one that spat out two out of three ball bearings from the spindle.
First question. The replacement units don't look like the original. Specifically, the new spindle doesn't have the spring loaded balls that the Saturn has. In fact it doesn't have any retention mechanism I can find at all, just a slightly conical piece tha -- I guess - you could balance the CD on. Any idea what's going on here?
Second, how do I bust into the box to replace the unit? Should I just start unscrewing things, and figure it out? I can't seem to locate a repair manual (not surprisingly).
Thanks all,
Aram
