Meridian's MQA

Just finished the May/June Absolute Sound with the article on Meridian's MQA codec. It certainly merits some attention and I had to reread it. Here are some related articles:

Ive always had a problem with the sampling rate of 44k for the audio bandwith despite the Nyquist theorm that was taught in my digital classes. 2 samples for a waveform at the extremes?

This technology samples at much higher rates but lower bitrate for the lower volumes at higher frequencies, then folds this information into the noisefloor for encoding. Very interesting and if any of the articles I've read so far are correct this can be a game changer in the digital community if we get enough momentum for its adoption and use.
