Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

My W4S DAC2-DSDse arrived this morning.

I immediately put it into service when I got it this morning. It replaces my Musical Fidelity M1DAC. I have all W4S inline equipment. I have the W4S STP-SE Pre with the Stage 2 mods as well as the SX1000 Mono Blocs.

All the digital music is on a 3TB drive. Everything I've converted so far is 192K/24 bit FLAC and WAV. I don't have any DSD. W4S recommends a 200 hour burn in. It sounds great right out of the box for me.

The digital through the M1DAC used to sound a little shrill on the top end. An immediate benefit for me is everything sounds completely controlled throughout the spectrum, more bass, more midgrange and a mellow high end.

Frank Sinatra, Jack Jones, Isaac Hayes, Gordon Lightfoot never sounded better on my system. I played a some Mahler, Hadyn, The Three Sounds & Lou Rawls, I'm like a kid in a candy store.
