There are infinite versions of Audio Note DACS. To try to compare this version vs that version isn't being specific enough to be very useful. The way to think about these DAC's is to think more modular. You need to break it down by the individual components within the unit.

Where it gets really interesting is to value engineer key pieces to the puzzle with much cheaper non-AN components. And if you are clever you can really dial in the "sound" you are looking for at a price that isn't obscene. Then you get to trade in your goofy looking consumer beanie hat with the super cool connoisseur badge.
