I am looking at one now. That cover does not appear to be glued on. The button platform could be machine pressed in so the entire remote looks to be one piece except for the battery compartment. If you try to remove anything by force you will likely trash the remote and it may never work correctly again.
None of that is necessary to free up any stuck rubber buttons. You should be able to manipulate or rock the top of each button with a finger nail, etc. until it pops up.
Anything more heroic than that should be left to a professional with Wadia experience. They were never meant to be repaired because they never break.
I have owned Models 15, 20, 27i, 270 and now a highly modified 25. I never had a remote issue except for stuck buttons. I also have a plastic remote. If you can't find a metal one to replace the one you have any Wadia plastic one should fill your needs if you can find one.
