Do you think it is OK to use a DA converter that can downmix 5.1ch Dolby digital to 2ch analogue?I can find only one Dolby licensed Dolby audio decoder. That is Gefen GTV-DD-2-AA Digital Audio Decoder.
Other product do not have Dolby symbol, and the manufacturer names are not on the list of licensed Dolby manufacturers.
http://www.dolby.com/us/en/professional/licensing/licensed-dolby-manufacturers.aspxThese include
Fiio D07,
Muxlab 500081,
Parts Express Digital to Analog Converter (5.1-Compatible),
Orei DA34 Digital to Analog Audio Decoder SPDIF/Coaxial 5.1-Channel Input to RCA L/R/3.5mm Headphone Output,
Panlong Optical SPDIF/ Coaxial Digital to Analog RCA Audio Decoder Converter with 3.5mm Headphone Jack - Converts PCM DTS/ AC3 5.1CH Signal to 2CH Analog L/R Audio,
etc.
.
.
.They certainly make 2ch sound, but is there a guarantee that the down mix is correct?
I am looking for something other than Gefen, because Gefen has exceptionally high level of jitter. See my post below.
