I gave up.

If I had do instant switching comparison often, I would DIY a selector with trimmers and active buffer stages.

Or buy a pre-amp with a good volume chip such as a Mark Levinson pre-amp.

The difference between 2.0V and 2.1V can be easily felt.

So it is inconvenient to level match with a typical potentiometer.

These days, I do not much do instant switching for sound comparison. I rely on the feeling of music over a longer period.
