Matching levels

I am a bit of a beginner when it comes to PC audio, a friend of mine set up JRiver on my PC as well as DBPower.
I already copied a few 100's cd's.
Now doing some listening it is obvious that the volume level from the PC is higher than my cd player.
I want to have my PC and CD player sound level to match to do instant comparison, which is the best way to do it. I estimate that my PC level is about 6-8 db louder than my cd player.
