Are these compatible across lines? Will a BT dongle ONLY be ok with the manufacturers 'name'?

I simply can't stomach the CA DACMagic+ Dongle at 100$ which is an insult considering others are available at 1/2 the price. Same, USB connecting device.

Will another one work in my DM+? Or am I 'stuck' with CA?
