I had actually decided not to go with the Wyred4 Sound mod but to get Empirical Audio Synchro-Mesh with its Dynamo power supply (to go with the Bryston BDA-1). It sounded like from what I read that the upgraded power supply perhaps gave Empirical Audio the edge with the Sonos (although it costs quite a bit more than the Wyred4Sound mod.) But Bones's post above has me wondering. Now that I am in this price ballpark, maybe I should be considering the Auralic Aries over the Sonos with Empirical Audio's Synchro-Mesh with Dynamo power supply? My concern is that that the Aries has some kinks that need to be worked out and I'm really interested in ease of use, which is why Sonos is appealing. I just want it to sound good too! Again, I'm only interested in playing Tidal or Deezer or some other comparable service. Any thoughts of which route is best? Thanks.
