I've seen the RS-232 on lots of gear. There must be some old control standard for it. I've never seen the parallel, so there must be an even older control standard for that. I also see an IR (Infra-Red) connect. They are ALL listed under REMOTE, so there must be some control standard for ALL of these connection types and this unit will respond to any of them. I doubt if you can download digital music through them, as that typically requires at least a USB standard connect, which is none of those, and generally of much higher speed as well.
