DAC with Wyred4Sound modified Sonos

Hello all-
This is related to the 16/44.1 post below, but rather than impose on that thread I'll pose my own (slightly distinct) question here. I want to get a Sonos unit. My sole purpose with it will be to stream lossless cd quality (Tidal or Deezer or some other). I am thinking of getting the Wyred4Sound modified unit, which I believe has a reclocking device for jitter. With the modified version, the consumer can configure the unit's output sample rate at 44.1, 48, or 96. But some say it doesn't matter, you only get 44.1 out of the Sonos anyway. I'm confused about that. But if I never intend to get into the hi-rez stuff anyway (and just stick with redbook level streaming) is my best bet to have it configured at 44.1 and then run in through a NOS dac (like the Teradak or the PS Audio Wave Nuforce with the 'native' option selected). Any advice greatly appreciated. I'm confused! Thanks, mc
