RE: Water stain, hmm. (nt)

or some other liquid stain. After being a bench tech for a few years and repairing lots of electronics used by techs in the field outdoors I've seen it all. Verizon sent in a VOM that had been submerged a long time and had dirt and mud inside. I've seen those stains before and they almost always equal trouble. I repaired many items with those stains too. I always used alcohol and cleaned the staining first then dried it with a heat gun as the stain would often conduct. For every unit I repaired with staining there was at least another or more that couldn't be repaired.
