Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Would you return this “new” DAC with stain?

I purchased a new DAC from an ebay seller.

The product came with scratches and stains, which make me feel that the product is not a new product. In addition, some problems on the boxes amplify such feel.

Since I did not yet use the product, I do not know whether the product works or not.

Would you return it?

The problems are below.

[1] On the black rear side of the product, there are white stains.

[2] On the gold plated RCA sockets and the headphone socket, there are stains. There are also scratches on the RCA sockets. (My poor camera failed to capture this.)

[3] The black box came damaged. On one edge, the adhesion was completely lost.

[4] The top side and the bottom side on the black box have sign of abrasion.

[5] The green box, which contained the black box, had a sticker residue on top surface, and the tape at the opening point was already cut by someone (not me).
