RE: Sound quality from cheap blue ray player

I've had DVD players and a Blue Ray, all said to have above average sound quality. They all do, but it invariably is far below what we find acceptable. However, if you use the digital out to a good DAC unit, I don't see the problem. I haven't found it easy to navigate the menus and find it far easier to pluck in a CD when I want background music.
