My old Sony X7ESD broke down, any used CDP tips?

Hi all, usually i post in the Vinyl dept.(/Asylum...). But this is an emergency!

My beloved Sony CDP-X7ESD had to be switched off due to power maintenance. Then it wouldn't start up anymore. The display stays dark and it won't open the drawer anymore. Bummer. Bought it used in the early 90s, played my CD's with it since then.

I have spares though...Old black boxes from the thrifts. Philips 104/460, Denon, Pioneer, Marantz CD40, and a surpisingly recent Rotel RCD-06, a 15 euro thrift find! After extensive listening i settled for the Rotel, listening to it now. Nice soundstage, ambience, clean highs. But it lacks the dynamic slam and bass of the Sony.

I'm waiting to have the Sony repaired but i'm looking around. It seems like, over here in Holland at least, the good vintage CDP's are sought after and expensive no matter how old. And i'm reluctant to spend a lot of money on a 20 year old CDP without guarantee.

Any recent or vintage used CDP's flying under the radar? I want 2 channel audio CD playback, no DVD, no multi channel.

Greetings Freek.
