The future of Audio Note DACs

I think Peter Qvortrup just discovered how good an "old technology" R2R ladder type DAC can sound. The details are murky, but if this old technology pans out (and he already says the prototype sounds better than his existing Dacs), he will replace all the high-level DACs in circulation with the new models and then work down from there.

I understand that the implementation is quite complex to make by hand: many resistors. That has to be worked out so production can be speeded up.

That's all I know.

Oh, he says the cost will be about 1/2 the current AN DAC prices, but i"m not sure how certain this is.
