The HK dealer here is the biggest selling AN dealer in the world.
The wealthy mainland Chinese come for vacation and buy em up including the dealer demo models which is somewhat annoying because I went one Saturday in passing then the next week I came back with my music and they had sold all of their AN K speakers including the demo. But people don't want to wait 5-12 months to get a product so I understand buying the demo but for me personally if you are going to pay the dollars I would want to buy it in the finish of my choosing and wait for that.
The last I heard from Peter he was traveling through France and Italy looking for manufacturing plants. The factory tour is only one of the plants. They make turntables/speakers at other plants. I know dealers get irritated and want him to make less stuff like other companies. Too much choice slows it all down.
Partly why I am tempted to just ship my AN J/Spe from Canada to HK. I could also ship the OTO - fortunately Audio Note amps work anywhere with a quick soldering job I am told.
I am looking at trying for level 4 gear (new or used). The DAC news though will change up the order a bit.
The AN E/Spx Alnico is the speaker I want but Peter told me they are struggling to meet supply of the Alnico drivers (tweeters I suspect). The product of the year award probably doesn't help.
The M6 the dealer had one and a demo so I'm leaning that way - the problem is they don't have the phono stage version. I could do vinyl later though as shipping my collection to HK will be a big pain in the butt.
