I don't know if you've tried Foobar 2000, but even though it's free, and we have the pleasure of paying for JRiver, I've found that I just can't listen to the sound of JRiver. Sounds like a synthesizer to me, even with settings chosen to be as close as possible to the settings in my Foobar and PlayPcmWin programs (I now even prefer PlayPcmWin a bit over Foobar), both of which sound much better to me than JRiver.
JRiver may have lots of bells and whistles bloat (fancy GUI options, does more than just play music, etc.), if that's your thing, but when it comes to playing music, I won't touch JRiver anymore, even though I paid $50 for it.
Just one person's opinion.
By the way, you can play DSD files via both Foobar and PlayPcmWin.
