"If your wall-wart is a 12-VDC unit, you can find out whether a better power supply will improve things by substituting an inexpensive sealed lead-acid battery. I did this many years ago with an Audio Alchemy DAC-in-the-Box and the audible improvement was dramatic."

I have had good luck using batteries. I would bet there will be a clear improvement. Getting off the grid is also an advantage IMO. Even a good linear supply can be polluted by other devices.
