I had a B&O CDX

It sounded "wooly" and poorly defined, even compared to other "vintage" players of the day. My old Sony ES CD77 and Nakamichi OMS-5 AII positively smoke it.

The B&O was probably the worst sounding CD player I've owned, even being bested my cheap late 80s/early 90s common units. Maybe it was just my particular "copy" of the player at fault, though.

That Marantz is a nice machine, btw. Congrats!
