While I don't dispute the value and cost of remastering vs MSRP, despite all of that, Decca is asking many people to buy these recordings for the second or third time. And on top of that, there is lots of competition from new recordings on SACD and Blu-ray that are priced lower (e.g. the Valencia Ring is only $100, given the current pricing of the Janowski/Wagner/Pentatone SACDs, the whole Ring will probably come out cost less than $200).

I'd like to have the Solti Ring in 24/96, but for that much money I could buy a lot of other recordings I don't already own.
