The build is bombproof and exudes serious, understated luxury and fanatical attention to detail.
But the sound is what's important - and here I found that the many reviews which extolled its "analog lover's" sonics were on the money - there is an ease to the presentation, musical flow, unforced detail, and center-of-the-earth bass extension. The many over/up-sampling choices and the isosynchronous USB input also make it a versatile performer (through I agree with AMR that Digital Master II w/o any up/oversampling is best).
For me, it's a statement piece and hopefully my final CDP.
