I agree that if everything else is done right A/D/A process does insignificant harm comparing to various digital EQ wizardry benefits.

However, in case of Behringer DEQ, for XLR analog IN I clearly prefer AudioSmile upgraded input comparing to stock. It alters tonality a bit (which is easily compensated), but somehow keeps dynamics and details better.

It is also said, even if both are modified, DEQ analog input is better than the same at SRC. Allegedly, XLR analog IN at SRC is executed differently and not that good as at DEQ.
