Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

A few thoughts from "The Friend"

I am the friend of sbrians with the Bifrost. I agree that it would be nice to compare DAC's in the same price range, but do not have the resources at hand to do such a comparison.

With that said, the Sony Blu-Ray is know as sounding pretty good in some forums. In one post I read someone returned their DACMagic because it did not sound as good as the Sony BDP-S570 (which is very similar to my BDP-S780).

I personally was looking warm-up the sound of my system, and so far the Bifrost seems to have done the trick. I am really enjoying the music now, and not analyzing it. Perhaps other DAC's in the same price range would be as good, but based upon sbrians's opinion, and many other on the Web, the Bifrost is a safe bet.

Also,

In Reckoner mentioned he liked his Theta Digital DS Pro Prime.

Mike Moffat, one of Schiit's founders, designed the Theta DS Pre, DS Pro, DS Pro Basic. I would think the Bifrost may have similar design principles as Theta units.

Thanks...
