RE: Canary Audio CD-300

Rick, I own the Canary Audio CD200 and consider it one of the very best CD players period. As a long time member of the OEM audio community, I need an exceptional reference for my work. The CD200 gives me that in spades!
I personally have know John Laurel, owner of Canary Audio, for over 5 years. I admire all of his designs and build quality because of their musicality and sonic presentation. There is none better! John has been trying very hard to convince me to purchase a CD300 because he says that it is much better than my CD200. I find that hard to believe, but I have not heard the CD300 to compare. I have never know him to exaggerate about his products, so the CD300 would be an excellent choice for a front end source for any system.
As an OEM/Modifier, I have heard many "world class" CD/DVD and SACD players. None have made me want to sell my CD200 and purchase them! The CD200 equals or bests almost all of them in critical areas...musicality, soundstaging, low level detail, bass power and dynamics. I use my CD200 as a reference and would not part for it unless the CD300 were better. No other CD unit made today tempts me!
If you love music the CD200 or CD300 is the player for you. They are imminently musical without being "in your face". I have a friend that plays for the Minnesota Orchestra and he said that the CD200 was the best digital front end that he had ever heard. He declared it to be the closest to a live orchestral event that he has heard.
If you can get your hands on one for the right price...go for it! It retails for $4,995.00 which is not cheap for a CD player, but I promise you that you will not regret your decision to purchase the CD300.
