Some believe that DACs and CD players need 50 - 400 hours of burn-in before they optimize. If you do believe in burn-in, is it safe to run a CD player almost continuously for a week or two...perhaps in long series of 8-hour "shifts" with a few hours of down time in between (with the player turned off)? Or, does this type of (almost) continuous operation harm the transport?
Also, if you're burning in a CD player, there's really no need to have the preamp, amp, and other upstream components turned on, am I correct?
