You make some very interesting points and observations about how the practical realities of consumer LP playback make for a less than ideal combination with classical music in particular. I pretty much agree with those observations. However, despite those annoying practical technical issues for vinyl, the music often still manges to come through somehow less damaged than from low noise, low distortion, digital playback.Theories abound as to why that could be. While jitter and other issues certainly play significant roles, my own DIY DAC experiments lead me to agree with those who believe the root cause lay primarily in time-domain artifacts stemming from the ADC anti-alias, and the DAC anti-image filters.
