Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

But SO True...

I have listend (and owned) quite a bit of high end vinyl rigs. Try as one might, one cannot cheat physics, no matter how much effort one puts into it.

Again, if YOU prefer vinyl, more power to you. Measurements prove otherwise, which I realize drives the golden ear crowd crazy. Vinyl and classical simply are not a good mix (espcially with the dynamic contrscts!). It's also much less of a pain to play back good digital, and one does not have to worry about cleaning records, record wear, stylus wear, etc.

The master tapes that vinyl are created from sound FAR better than vinyl. The current generation of better digital playback rigs come FAR closer to getting it right than vinyl (easpcially with classical). No compression, distortion artifacts to detract the performance.

So, we shall agree to disagree. Not a big dael, really.
