Two weeks on repeat should be enough to break it in most of the way. If it is sounding harsh, I would look at other things in your system. I would start with both cables (interconnect and power), but especially RF filtering. Do you have any components that have switching power supplies? (Remember that all video displays have switching power supplies.) Any Class-D amplifiers? Those are the things I would look at first.

As far as the CD layer, may I ask a question? If you have a hybrid SACD, the SACD layer will *always* sound better than the CD layer. So why would you want to get worse sound from your disc?
