If it's bass that you are looking for, I'm not sure you can do much better than Sunn 0))). Sometimes referred to as "sludge metal," slow and low is how they roll. Incredibly visceral low stuff. Their most recent album "Monoliths and Dimensions" is fantastic. Not for everyone, but something that I think any basshead should check out. Totally enveloping.

And if you ever have a chance to see them live, do it. I just saw them in Chicago. Wow. What a sonic experience. They crank the smoke machines, wear long heavy cloaks that totally obscure their faces and deliver wave after wave of bass. They are touring now.

The band recommends "playing at maximum volume for maximum effect"
