I agree that fmak presents a valid argument. But the one thing that seems to never be discussed, the most important element to this discussion, is the total design of the DAC and the ultimate sound that results. Gordon's DACs are extremely neutral and have great ease in their presentation. Is it due to Async USB, tubes, or general parts used? I think it's the sum total of the design and parts that makes his DACs special.
