Who did the work on your unit? It sounds like either the wrong part was used or the alignment process wasn't done carefully enough. Either one could be the case, especially if it wasn't done at the manufacturer's shop. I've done a couple of laser replacements in other CD players and you must have the shop manual to get the procedure right.
