Don't beat about the bush - in the scheme of things it's crap. :0)

Early adopters of SACD who purchased SCD-1s and SCD-777Es's were adamant that these players clearly demonstrated that there was a vast chasm between SACD and CD (which there was on these players), but moreover that CD's were only fit for the waste bin and virtually unlistenable now that SACDs were among us.

This is what Sony intended however but I'm surprised there are still those among us (Pinkus - wash yer ears out!) who regard the SCD-1 as a good CD player.
