In my 10 years in this hobby, this is the first time, that I can unequivocally say that a CD player can make a difference to the sound. In all my previous posts on this site, I have always claimed that digital sources pretty much sound alike (including a Wadia 27) but not this one.

The Ayre C5-xe coupled with the Ayre AX-7e creates a dense, rich soundfield with a very deep soundstage. I have heard many times about SS sounding like tubes, but I have always been disappointed....actually let me be emphatic...I have been sorely disappointed. The Ayre C5 coupled with the Ayre A7, betters my previous stack of electronics, which cost $31K (20K tube amp, 6K tubed preamp, $5K cd player).

This is the real deal.
