Digital Drive

I had this problem on a Toshiba 2200

it was just a drop out on both channels during CD playback. Kind of like going onto PAUSE. DVDs didn't have a problem. It got progressively worse, in frequency and duration and even worked its way over to the DVD side. Sometimes it would work for a few albums' worth of music, so I don't know what was up.

I took the cover off, lubed the rails, cleaned the lens, but no dice. It was a good five years old and at $220 new, didn't warrant an 'out of warranty' repair job.

I got a PS3 recently and last week gave it to one of the fellows painting my condo, telling him it works 'asi-asi'.
