I had an Accuphase DP-75V (over $11K) which I sold in exchange for a computer (MAC)based system. Since then I compared my MAC+TC Electronic Konnekt 8 transport to an Accuphase DP-78 and Mark Levinson 390S and Wadia 861. In all cases the MAC system was superior. Owners of the above players also acknowledged it. Of course, you'll still need a very good external DAC which can cost thousands.
