Problem with my Rega Planet

My Original Rega Planet CDP, which has worked flawlessly since purchasing it about 10 years ago, is suddenly unable to spin-up a disk. It trys to spin-up with a series of short pulse jerks, but stops trying and comes to rest after about 10 seconds. Is this the symptom of a Laser or Spindle Motor that has gone bad? Should I get it repaired or just be thankful that I got 10 years of good service/sound out of it, chunk it, and take the opportunity to upgrade to a more current CDP?
