After all, why not help to positively predispose the new owner to your company and products? They may turn out be a better and bigger customer than the original owner. And if not, they are more likely to have something good to say about you, no?

And what message does that send? Our products are not good enough? You're not good enough? We don't take the lead and don't build sustainably? None of these seem to be messages that a company would opt to attach to its brand and yet here we are all talking around these latent aspects.
Seems likely that size of company is related to the issue too - a one-man operation might feel compelled to offer some attention for the sake of his business and livelihood. Perhaps Rega think that they can shrug it off?big j
