In the systems I have heard, Wadias have a kind of mid prominence which is not free flowing (rythmically). Mid and lower hf are very important to me and the free flowing nature of vinyl also appeals more than some digital systems.

Yes, I have used digital volume control on my dCS but I try not too be too far from 0dB. I have not critically listened as I prefer my analogue passive with which I have good control of sources and steps. One of them allows me to change polarity also.
