What might lead one to think Rega does transfer warranty is the "owners log" page in the owners manual, what other purpose would it serve? Anyway to clear this up some manufacturers honor warranty regardless if original owner. Polk Audio sent me replacements for blown drivers back in the 80's and I was not the original owner nor did I have a receipt, I just called and they sent them to me free. And believe it or not, a year later they sent another driver free of charge, but said from then on they'd charge me. Additionally Bryston has a 20 year transferable warranty, you don't even need a receipt for equipment prior to 2006. http://www.bryston.ca/warranty.html
As someone who used 4 of the new Regas and all had variuos problems including the read issue, I posted awhile back about other users and found a total of many faulty machines among several different users. There is a problem with the new Rega operating software. The problems are not limited to a few users. For your information here are the links to my previous post here about Rega Apollo and Saturn and one at audiogon where I respond (fillmoor) to another users thread and even the US rega distributer chimes in. http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/digital/messages/13/136686.html http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?ddgtl&1203561091&read&keyw&zzrega
